SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 2, 2008) - Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco is pleased to announce the appointment of Giovanni Beretta as Hotel Manager. Beretta comes to Four Seasons from InterContinental Hotels where he spent 13 years as Hotel Manager, Director of Food & Beverage and Assistant Food & Beverage Manager positions at various properties around the world including Miami, Guyana, Caracas and San Francisco. In his new role, Beretta will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, with an emphasis on guest services.

Most recently, Beretta held the position of Hotel Manager at the InterContinental San Juan Resort and Casino where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the 400-room luxury property, as well as overseeing a staff of almost 500. As the newly appointed Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco, Beretta will bring his international expertise and his well-honed ability to provide flawless, intuitive service that is a hallmark of the Four Seasons brand.

A native of Rome, Italy, Giovanni Beretta spent several years studying law and accounting at the University of Economics in Milan before deciding to move to Switzerland to pursue his true passion for the hospitality industry. After earning a degree in hotel management from the highly acclaimed Ecôle Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, Beretta embarked on his career in the hospitality sector gaining valuable experience around the world at both city and resort hotels with InterContinental. As a result of his global experiences, Beretta speaks multiple languages including English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

Beretta's arrival in San Francisco is a homecoming of sorts, as Giovanni spent 2002-2003 as the Director of Food & Beverage for InterContinental Mark Hopkins. Beretta, who is engaged to be married, is thrilled to return to the city by the Bay. "I am very excited about the opportunity to join Four Seasons, especially in San Francisco," says Beretta.
