Junk Food Clothing creates t-shirt line for Holiday Inn

H&MM Week In Review

ATLANTA, March 19 -- Holiday Inn(R) Hotels and Resorts, the world's most recognized hotel brand, announced today the introduction of a line of vintage tees inspired by the brand's iconic heritage.

Designed and distributed by Junk Food Clothing, the shirts were created to capture the attention of younger generations of travelers who desire to be fashion forward, but also comfortable. Initial designs for the signature tees were inspired by catchy slogans and imagery formerly associated with the brand, such as the iconic Holiday Inn sign and the tagline "Your Host from Coast to Coast." The shirts also tap into hotel lingo with catchphrases like "Sleep with the Best" and "Do Not Disturb."

"Holiday Inn is one of few brands with a legacy that evokes such a strong emotional connection with consumers," said Mark Snyder, senior vice president, Brand Management, Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts. "The vintage tees are a way for us to take our current guests down 'memory lane,' while introducing the brand to younger generations in a fun and engaging way. The t-shirts pay tribute to our brand's rich heritage, but with a wink and a smile that shows we are continuing to evolve for today's travelers."

"For generations, the 'T-shirt' has stood for comfort, relaxation and self-expression among consumers," said Natalie Grof, CEO, Junk Food Clothing. "Even more so, vintage T-shirts instill a sense of personal style and customization. From images of rock bands to corporate logos, vintage tees represent a unique generational response to nostalgic brands that continue to be relevant."

The Holiday Inn vintage tees are now available in stores such as Kitson, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Macy's Northwest, and other fine boutiques. Starting today, consumers will also be able to purchase these trendy tees online at www.junkfoodclothing.com.

About Junk Food

Junk Food founders, Natalie Grof and Blaine Halvorson, have always had a love of fashion and an entrepreneurial spirit. The trend setting company, launched in 1998, is a success story that was made by two individuals who came together with a vision and passion for what they love to do.

The idea was to create a line of retro/soft vintage t-shirts, incorporating pop culture and nostalgia retro brands. In the early days of starting Junk Food, they watched every shirt get printed, perfecting the printing process. The goal was to create a shirt that evoked a vintage softness and fade that one may 're-discover' in their closet from years ago.

The company was soon printing thousands of t-shirts every week, trying to meet the demand of the retailers and strong word of mouth from both their customer base and editorial coverage -- the shirts hit a spot with their nostalgia graphic design and soft form fitting styles.

Junk Food began to receive large orders from fashion forward retail giants, while still catering to the specialty upper-tier fashion boutiques. In confluence with the retail interest, the Junk Food t-shirts were soon beginning to appear on taste makers and Hollywood celebrities. Fast becoming the 'it' shirt to with celebrities such as Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Kate Beckinsale, Kelly Clarkson, Ashton Kutcher, Eva Longoria and Nicole Ritchie, the Junk Food t-shirts and collections were soon seen in every fashion and tabloid magazine covering the stars and 'what's hot' trends.
